FSPL Game 2 saw Sunrise away to West Pines. After losing on Saturday heavily West Pines had a point to prove as well as it being a local derby. The girls were warned that this could be a game of many chances, that if they don't take them could prove a difficult fixture. The first 20min looked like it was going to end up exactly like that! Great build up play from the back with lots of possession but the quality in the final third of the field had no end product.
After the first water break the formation was changed to 4-4-2. The girls were told if they score twice West Pines would break? Celina Ortiz earned a penalty which she converted with great professionalism. Sunrise needed a second goal to settle and knocked on the door over and over again with great domination eventually paying off with 2 quick goal from Chanelle Williams. Natalia Marshall-Hewitt added to bring the total to 0-4. It could have been many more with Sasha Lyncooke hitting the woodwork twice and good close range saves by the West Pines kept the score down.
